It has finally arrived!

Finally! After a delay of two years to first get the cash together and then a further EIGHT months delay compliments of an administrative mess at HP South Africa (you seriously dropped the ball on this one guys), my editing dream machine has finally arrived. Spec'ed out and custom built for me by a man with a fancy Italian name.

Camera upgrade: Phase 1A - Filters

I'm busy with a sizable upgrade on my NEX-FS100 camera as well as my post-production software. Sadly it is taking frustratingly long to get all the stuff I ordered. I don't know...maybe it's because I live where I live, or maybe it's because I live in a country that has most its public holidays in April. Or maybe I'm just getting old and impatient.

Yes, it is new! Sony NEX-FS100 with a (partially assembled) Genus matte box, rail system and follow focus unit. And yes a rig like this has been on my wishlist for more than two years.

Actually the camera is a loan unit because mine is on backorder with Sony and is still sitting on a factory workbench in Nagasaki. The Genus cine kit arrived in SA last Friday. Obviously I can't wait to put this to work.

Edit suite upgrade

We recently upgraded our post-production setup and if you’re a client of ours you’re in for a treat in 2012! Having wrapped up the last projects by early December we were able to reformat, rewire and rearrange the current work area to something that is now very close to my dream (home) edit suite.

The new edit suite now features:

A new custom designed desk. This is a huge improvement over the previous.
