Above: Podcasts. Webisodes. Whatever you want call them, they're fun, they're popular and they're spreading through social media like wildfire. Who cares about broadcast television when you have the internet...
The NWU's Centre for BMI came first with BMI | TV. Then came the NWU Faculty of Engineering with e-Info. And now there's Take Note by the NWU's School of Music. All three projects aim to inform and entertain with regular internet-based video news programmes. Although each series is unique in its content the basic recipe is the same throughout - present the latest news, views and interviews in a compact 5min format and distribute via social media to prospective students, alumni and staff.
The content for each episode is determined by the client who is also closely involved in filming and editing. Each episode goes into post-production as soon as possible after the shoot and in many cases editing and finishing is done on location. The completed clip is distributed via social networks like Facebook. Currently we're getting between 200 and 500+ views per episode which is quite amazing taking into consideration the specialized nature of the content.

Producing these episodes has been great fun. Keep an eye on the Match Frame Media YouTube channel for new episodes.
